Dormant Grafted High Vines – Field Grown KC The same process that is used for 3 bud vines is followed for high vines in the first year. During the winter while these vines are dormant, they are trimmed by hand back to 2 buds. A trellis is installed with cordon wires and vertical training wires. As the vines emerge from dormancy, the main vertical shoot is trained up the vertical training wire to the cordon wire 1.5 metres above the surface. Lateral shoots and tendrils are removed. The process is repeated up to 6 times during the growing season. The same digging, grading and packing process used for 3 bud vines is followed once the vines ready. Lead Time – Order by June for delivery in 2 years.
